LOGAN, W.Va. – Eddie Lee Bailey, 72, of Mount Gay, West Virginia, was sentenced on March 5, 2025, to not less than three nor more than 15 years in a state correctional facility for DUI Causing Death.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on December 26, 2023, Deputy J.L. Isaacs responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident involving the Defendant and 21-year-old David Trammell. Upon arrival, Isaacs observed the Defendant’s vehicle to be parked sideways in the middle of the road crossing the centerline in the opposite direction of travel. During his investigation on site, Isaacs was notified by Logan County 911 that Bailey did advise the EMTs that he had been drinking prior to operating the vehicle. A CDDP blood draw kit was administered at LRMC which showed that Bailey had been consuming alcohol prior to driving.
